About the Cold Air Wellness Chamber CRYO XC™

The cold air wellness chamber is an innovative device that provides cold air sessions with extremely cold temperatures. The cold air wellness chamber has become one of the most widely applied forms of cold exposure. Its popularity has grown in many diverse areas of sports, health and wellness. In making use of the cold air wellness chamber device, we now have ways to stimulate the body to recover faster, to alleviate pain, to subside inflammation, increase mobility, strength, flexibility, improve condition with many autoimmune diseases, increased production of skin collagen and cellulite reduction. It achieves these desirable effects by taking advantage of the conditions set up in extreme temperatures ranging from -110°C to -160°C in the cold air wellness chamber.

How it works

The system mixes vapors of liquid nitrogen with air to provide extremely low temperatures inside the client cabin. Before a series of sessions is started, the cold air wellness chamber is precooled to a standard temperature, once the unit has finished the process of precooling the client cold air wellness chamber, the unit is ready for treatments. Standard temperatures in the cold air session range from -110°C to -160°C / -166°F to -260°F based on the operation mode. The length of the session can vary from 2 minutes up to 3,5 minutes. Settings and modes are adjustable at any moment during the treatment should the client request lower temperatures or a shorter/longer session.

What are the effects of cold air exposure?

While in operation, the extremely cool air quickly lowers skin temperature to which the body reacts by initiating the process of vasoconstriction. Vasoconstriction takes place as a defensive reaction of the body to the extreme environment. Once the treatment has ended and the cold stimulation ends, the process of vasodilation comes into action and allows for blood to fully return into areas from which blood was pushed out. Once the client exits the cold air wellness chamber, the client may feel a rush of endorphins which lasts for a period of up to 4 hours as well as a feeling of increased blood flow through extremities.
